Texas Roadhouse

  • Good for steaks and chicken. $18-$25
  • Next to the Baymont Inn and Howard Johnson’s. 0.1 miles north of the clinic

Rezaz

  • Mediterranean. The closest excellent food.
  • Fine dining at night for $25-$30. Also nice for lunch (soups, salads and sandwiches), $12

Biltmore Estate dining

Entrance is 0.2 miles north of the clinic.
Requires entry fee to the estate, typically $42-$50 for person depending on the season. Annual pass is $99 per adult.

  • Wonderful all-vegetarian cuisine. Downtown Asheville ambience. Malaprop’s bookstore and cafe is two blocks away on Haywood Street. Many small shops and venues.

Stir Fry Café

  • Very good restaurant with nice ambience and good food. Excellent stir-fried vegetables with rice or noodles and either meat (chicken, shrimp or pork) or vegetarian. $15-$17 or less.

Five Guys

  • Probably the best hamburgers in the South; very reasonable at less than $10 per meal. Limited to hamburgers and hot dogs, but food is very fresh and good.
  • Open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • 4.2 miles or 8 minutes south on US 25. In a shopping mall on the left.
